During World War II, Michael Berryman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and Thomas March (James McArdle) met and fell in love. However, after the war, Michael marries Flora (Joanna Vanderham). 60+ years later, Flora (Vanessa Redgrave) is living with her grandson Adam (Julian Morris), who secretly uses a dating app for hook-ups and avoids anything deeper.
