This Falcon and the Winter Soldier review contains spoilers. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 5 When we last left our patriotic heroes, Captain America’s replacement, John Walker, had just publicly chopped a man to death with his shield. Between this and the way Mysterio edited footage to make Spider-Man look like a mass murderer, it’s a really bad time for Avengers replacements. There’s probably footage of Valkyrie biting someone’s face off to fulfill the trifecta. Recently, Marvel released a trailer to hype up the last two episodes, and the long-awaited fight between our titular protagonists and the unhinged…

This The Falcon and the Winter Soldier review contains spoilers. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 4 The first three episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were all about world-building. The first episode was about what our titular heroes were up to in a post-Blip world. The second episode focused on the new Captain America John Walker. The third episode was a Captain America: Civil War throwback by revisiting Baron Zemo and Sharon Carter. All the while, we’d check in on the Flag-Smashers and get an increased idea of what they’re about while there’s something in there…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 7 For too long, the narrative focus on Walker has been on Cordell, Emily, and their family. Which makes sense because Cordell is the lead. But Micki is also a major character who deserves just as much of the attention. She is Cordell’s partner and back up when things go south, and that dynamic is only made richer the more we learn about Micki’s backstory. In “Tracks,” we get some of that narrative balance, spending some more time with Micki and her family. Micki’s faith in her mother, Adriana, is kind of surprising…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 6 Walker’s “Bar None” gives us way too much teenage drama when the focus should be on Emily’s death and those behind it. Seriously, Stella is gearing to win the most self centered award on this show. Who thinks that inviting a boy the family doesn’t know is a good idea during the family camping trip for a dead parent? Stella, that’s who. Stella’s annoyance at her grandmother’s hesitation was in itself annoying. Abby is protecting her family. She doesn’t know Trent or Trevor, whatever his name is. And she doesn’t have to…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 3 Walker’s “Duke” takes too long to get to the point of the episode, aka that his undercover flame is in town. That leaves us believing that Walker is just being overdramatic for about 10 minutes before the realization hits that he’s doing it to protect his family. All of it is to protect his family. And the fact that no one trusts him is infuriating but realistic at the same time. Micki stepping forward and doing what is needed is what makes her a great partner. Yes, she might act annoyed with…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 4 Walker’s “Don’t Fence Me In” takes the time to reinforce and explain that Micki Ramirez is a trailblazer. She’s doing the work so the ones who come after her don’t have to fight like she does every day. And it’s hard when you’re breaking the glass ceilings for the very first time. We see it in this episode with the way that Micki is used to show that the department has diversity. But Micki’s boyfriend Trey is also right. When stuck in a situation like this, you have to use the momentum…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 3 Walker’s “Bobble Head” saw the past clash with the present, where flaws were shown and where change is on the horizon. The present mainly had to do with Walker and Micki in this episode. Right off the bat, they were kind of adorable trying to get to know each other—Walker a little more than Micki because he was so eager to get to know his partner and it was different from the man we’ve gotten to know so far. Seriously, he was like an eager puppy. Micki wants to get to know…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 2 Walker’s “Back in the Saddle” sees this show starting to find its groove after the introductory pilot. While the first episode was very much set up and angst, this episode is about expanding on everything that we’ve seen already and working on reconnecting a family broken by loss. There is still plenty of angst. It’s not easy and Cordell Walker isn’t the best, but he’s trying. They’re all trying, in their own ways. And that’s always going to count for more than people give it credit for—at least it does in the…

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki’s new CW show, Walker, has premiered, but this Walker: Texas Ranger reboot doesn’t exactly wow. “There are many moments in the pilot of Walker where someone talks about how Cordell Walker doesn’t play by the rules. He’s got his own way of doing things, you see, and he’s not like other Texas Rangers etcetera. The new series, a reboot of the Chuck Norris-led Walker: Texas Ranger, is extremely focused on building up the titular hero but at times that comes at the expense of actually making him a hero we want to root for.” Read more…

This Walker review contains spoilers. Walker Episode 1 The CW’s Walker has finally arrived and we couldn’t be more ready for the journey ahead of us, especially as it means more Jared Padalecki and Lindsey Morgan. Now, if you’re looking for a review written by someone who watched the original Walker: Texas Ranger, this isn’t it. This reviewer has never watched a second of that show and never plans to do so. What we can talk about is the road so far for Jared Padalecki’s character Walker, how much we love Micki Ramirez, and the things that hit for a…
