Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Why Wonder Woman and the Amazons Have a New Theme

Tom Holkenborg wants to take an entirely different spin on the music we associate with Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman. To be sure, the famous electric cello theme composed by Hans Zimmer, whom Holkenborg collaborated with on the score to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), still appears in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Yet this time around, the Dutch composer, who is also known as Junkie XL, was looking to bring out a different side of Wonder Woman’s personality, not to mention Zack Snyder’s decidedly more ancient interpretation of the Amazons. “It does use that [Zimmer] riff,” Holkenborg says…

The WandaVision Theme Song is Stuck in Your Head Right Now

What’s a classic TV sitcom without a catchy theme song?  While Marvel’s first TV effort, WandaVision, is not a classic (yet) nor a sitcom, it does seek to lovingly recreate beloved TV legends like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, and more. And to that end, it’s brought in a pair of songwriting titans to pen some irrepressible jingles. Before breaking the pattern in the world-expanding fourth episode, WandaVision’s first three episodes were each accompanied by a new tune to play over the opening credits. Each of these theme songs closely mirror the style of that episode’s…

No Time to Die Theme Song Music Video Released by Billie Eilish

The Daniel Craig era of James Bond movies has featured a pretty interesting collection of the theme songs, including Chris Cornell’s “You Know My Name,” Alicia Keys and Jack White’s “Another Way to Die,” and Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall,” which somehow beat out Radiohead’s dreamy “Spectre” in 2015. And then there’s “Skyfall,” by Adele, which many consider to be the best of the bunch. To cap Craig’s time as Bond, Eon Productions has tapped the very talented Billie Eilish to perform the theme for No Time to Die. The song, which is titled after the movie, is a…

Hulu’s Animaniacs Reboot to Include New Theme Song

When it comes to Yakko, Wacko, and Dot Warner, the trio is meant to come off as timeless. They’re sentient retcons, created in the early 1990s, but also canonically existing since the 1930s. Much like Bugs Bunny (and unlike Buster Bunny), it doesn’t matter what decade they’re doing their hijinks in. That’s why it’s so welcome that Animaniacs is making a comeback in November on Hulu. With the same voice actors behind the characters decades later and the Steven Spielberg seal of approval, all signs point to this being a worthwhile revival. And while that Animaniacs theme song is so…

Disney Suspends All Film Production, Closes Theme Parks, Amid Coronavirus Crisis

The Walt Disney Company has opted to suspend production on all films, be they shooting across the Atlantic Ocean or are simply in pre-production in California. The delay follows on the heels of international upheaval in the film industry during the escalating coronavirus pandemic. Among the biggest delays is director Rob Marshall’s highly anticipated remake of The Little Mermaid. The film, which was apparently nine days away from filming, stars Halle Bailey as one of Disney’s most popular princesses, the aquatic Ariel, as well as Melissa McCarthy as the dastardly Ursula the Sea Witch. The movie was set to begin…
