Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Streaming Report Suggests There’s Limited Audience for Snyderverse

In addition to being a rare four-hour blockbuster, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, a.k.a. the Snyder Cut, has been one of the most fascinating movie experiments in some time.  Due in part to an unfailingly passionate fan campaign, Warner Brothers’ major DC superhero team-up got two bites at the apple, first with the studio-favored Justice League (2017), then with director Zack Snyder’s cut on HBO Max last month. The existence of the pair has provided an interesting case study in exactly what audiences really prefer. Based on fan response (and our own, albeit mixed, review), it would appear that a singular,…

Line of Duty: Who is DC Chloe Bishop? Fan Theory Suggests Series 1 Link

Six series in, and Line of Duty has pinged a Jack-in-the-Box into the audience’s face so many times that we’ve learned to approach new episodes with the vigilant, arms-crossed suspicion of a mum whose teenager wants to have a party. Have you forgotten what happened last time? You can promise whatever you like, son, but ever since that girl got pushed out of that window, we have no reason to believe you. In this state of high-alert vigilance, Line of Duty fans trust nothing and nobody. Worse than that: we start to listen out for the next loud bang, trying…

Mighty Max: Original Voice Actor Suggests It’s Time for a Comeback

Recently, I had the honor of getting to talk to voice actor Ron Paulsen for about an hour. The point of the interview was to discuss the Animaniacs revival on Hulu and a little bit about his autobiography Voice Lessons, but the two of us discussed all kinds of corners of his career. Rob, an incredibly friendly guy who comes off like there’s nothing he’d rather do than talk with a fan, talked up everything from Pinky and the Brain to Metal Gear Solid. Starting way back in the GI Joe days, Rob Paulsen has been doing the voice acting…

Wesley Snipes Suggests Patton Oswalt Lied About His Violent Blade: Trinity Conduct

David S. Goyer’s Blade: Trinity marked the end of Wesley Snipes’ big screen tenure as Marvel’s iconic vampire hunter. The 2004 superhero horror movie was allegedly plagued with issues during its production, and some of those reports were fuelled years ago by comedian Patton Oswalt, who starred alongside Snipes in the middling threequel. Oswalt told AV Club back in 2012 that Snipes acted strangely throughout filming on Blade: Trinity and even “tried to strangle” its director at one point. The Guardian has raised these claims in a new interview with the 58-year-old actor, who denies them. “Let me tell you…

Google Stadia Developer Suggests “Streamers Should Be Paying Developers”

Alex Hutchinson, Typhoon Studios co-founder and Google Stadia developer, has suggested on Twitter that video game streamers should pay developers for the rights to stream their games. The real truth is the streamers should be paying the developers and publishers of the games they stream. They should be buying a license like any real business and paying for the content they use.— Alex Hutchinson (@BangBangClick) October 22, 2020 Hutchinson’s tweet seems to be a response to Twitch’s controversial handling of DMCA takedowns which have impacted their streaming partners’ ability to play licensed music and other licensed audio content on their…

Xbox Boss Suggests Game Pass Won’t Come to PlayStation and Nintendo Consoles

Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, is downplaying the possibility of Xbox Game Pass coming to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms after some previously suggested that the service could be ported to “rival” consoles. “The thing about other gaming console platforms is we’re not able to bring a full Xbox experience on those platforms,” Spencer says in an interview with GameStar. “In places where we have [brought a full Xbox experience] – like what we’re doing now on mobile phones with xCloud coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate [and] what we’ve done with PC – we know when somebody is playing one…

AMC Theatres Suggests It May Go Out of Business

AMC Theatres reported Wednesday that the company expects to post a loss of $2.4 billion with the financials from its first quarter in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Further the largest theater chain in North America announced (via THR) there is substantial doubt that it can “continue as a going concern for a reasonable period of time.” In everyday parlance, the company is saying unless something substantial changes in their financial prospects in the immediate future, they will likely be forced to file for bankruptcy and potentially go out of business. This news is not necessarily shocking, even if…
