For readers of a certain age, at one point in our youth, there was absolutely nothing better than Ann M. Martin’s The Baby-Sitters Club. The books followed the story of a group of preteen girls who start a babysitting business together and while there are plenty of tales of unruly kids and overbearing parents, at its heart, this is a series about the bonds of female friendship.
