Halloween Kills Shifts to Day and Date Streaming Release on Peacock

This is going to cut movie theater owners as deeply as, well, Michael Myers after he leaves the kitchenware aisle. Universal Pictures announced with little pomp or fanfare on Thursday that David Gordon Green and Jamie Lee Curtis’ long anticipated follow-up to their 2018 Halloween reboot, Halloween Kills, will now premiere simultaneously in theaters and on the NBC-Universal streaming service, Peacock. The Purge 5 Shifts to 2021 Release Date

To the surprise of nobody, The Purge will return for a fifth installment.  The film, officially titled The Forever Purge, will reunite many of The Purge‘s principal behind the scenes players. That includes the key producers of Blumhouse Productions as well as franchise creator James DeMonaco. Unfortunately, no further details have been given at this time regarding the film’s plot or setting. Infinite, a sci-fi film from director Antoine Fuqua, made a major change with Mark Wahlberg as its new headliner, replacing Chris Evans. Indeed, while Avengers: Endgame was the expected, well, endgame of Evans’s tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America (maybe?), the actor happens to have several starring roles on his docket.
