With the world media’s focus on the current COVID-19 pandemic, the mainstream global discussion of the ongoing and future devastating effects of climate change has been put on the back burner. (If it was ever on the front burner to begin with.) But some of the best and most important speculative fiction releases are engaging with the vital issue in creative and fascinating ways. The Last of Us Part 2 Patch Notes Reveal New Permadeath Mode

The Last of Us Part 2‘s upcoming patch will add a new difficulty mode to the game as well as a punishing Permadeath option. The Grounded difficulty option is actually a returning feature from the previous game. While the full details of this new version haven’t been explained quite yet, it sounds like the basic premise remains the same. That is to say that Grounded will remove many of the game’s HUD elements and reduce the effectiveness of the game’s “listen” ability. On top of that, you’ll have to deal with some of the other resource limitations and increased damage…

Pentagon UFO Division to Reveal Aerial Vehicle Sightings Caught by Naval Intelligence

The Pentagon can be quite the tease, especially when it comes to UFOs. They’ve claimed the phenomenon doesn’t exist, that they looked into it and lost interest, and they disbanded the unit they had investigating it. Now The New York Times is reporting the top military office never stopped looking at the skies. They just stopped telling us about it. The program, called the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, is not classified, though some subjects contained in it are, but the Pentagon still prefers not to discuss it. A Senate committee has given them 180 days to tease us with…

DC FanDome to Reveal DCEU, Arrowverse, and More DC Universe Secrets

The comics world is still disappointed at the necessary cancellation of an entire year of conventions due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak in the United States.
