Well, this might just be the final Thor: Love and Thunder set photo story we publish. Not because you, our readers, haven’t devoured these and clamored for them every time we published ’em, but because there simply won’t be any more set photos to report. You see, folks, Thor: Love and Thunder has wrapped filming. “That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder,” Hemsworth wrote on Instagram. “It’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate. The film is gonna be batshit crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string…

This article is sponsored by If you’re lucky enough to live near Islay, Scotland, you may have heard the tale of the Islay Dragon, a myth that has inspired a new limited edition whisky from the legendary Scotch whisky distillery, Ardbeg. Ardbeg Scorch is distilled in heavily-charred American oak casks for a super-smoky flavour, and will be released on this year’s Ardbeg Day— an online celebration which forms part of Islay’s annual Fèis Ìle festival of whisky and music. The Ardbeg Day celebrations are free to join online, and open to all whisky lovers. For those who can’t yet taste the…

It appears reports of movie theaters’ demise were greatly exaggerated. Thank the boffo gods. After more than a year of bad headlines and even worse forecasts for cinema exhibitors, Memorial Day weekend has been a defiant roar for movie theaters across the United States, led chiefly by the stunning success of A Quiet Place Part II and the more complicated (probable) success of Cruella. Both films were prized assets for their studios—Paramount Pictures and Disney, respectively—and both were delayed from their original 2020 start dates. Indeed, A Quiet Place Part II was the first major studio tentpole displaced in March…

The summer movie season has returned. Finally. Once something we all just took for granted, like handshakes and indoor dining, a summertime season stuffed with pricy Hollywood blockbusters and cinematic escapism suddenly feels like a long lost friend. But, rest assured, the summer movie season is genuinely and truly here. It’s maybe a little later than normal, yet it’s still in time for Memorial Day in the States. This is of course happy news since many of the big screen events of this year have been 12 months or more in the offing. A Quiet Place Part II was supposed…

The long-awaited Black Adam movie is now filming in Atlanta, and Dwayne Johnson, in his typical style, is letting fans know exactly what’s what. “If you know the comic book mythology, then you know where his pain comes from,” Johnson wrote in an Instagram post. “His rage. His wife and children killed. His people brutally enslaved. He is not a superhero, but rather a champion. Champion of the poor and beaten down. Champion of the people. And he is the most unstoppable force in the DC UNIVERSE.” Johnson has been attached to the role of Black Adam for many years…

The debut trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins wants you to know that the upcoming film is on a new level, as its accompanying rap by A$AP Ferg directly declares. While the final verdict on that bold claim will be decided once the pandemic-delayed film finally drops in July, the franchise aspirations are quite apparent. Indeed, Henry Golding’s black-clad ninja commando is complemented by signature characters such as Scarlett and Baroness, and a teased focus on the Hasbro toy property’s other popular ninja character, Storm Shadow. G.I. Joe’s silent, ass-kicking mascot himself, Snake Eyes, as played by Crazy Rich…

When we last saw Shazam’s arch-nemesis Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong) during a mid-credits sequence at the end of 2019’s Shazam!, the mad scientist and Seven Deadly Sins host had been defeated by the title hero and was firmly ensconced at Rock Falls Penitentiary. It was in his cell that he was approached by the super-intelligent alien centipede — and fellow Shazam super-villain — Mister Mind, who offered to form an alliance with Sivana and promised that the Seven Realms would be theirs for the taking. While the sequel, now titled Shazam! Fury of the Gods, has been steadily ramping…

Almost 35 years on, Howard the Duck still holds the crown of Marvel’s weirdest movie to date. “Over 20 years before Iron Man kick-started what’s now the Marvel Cinematic Universe—the pop-culture juggernaut that devours so much of the box office—another Marvel hero got his chance to save the world. Big difference, though: the star of Howard the Duck didn’t exactly set the world on fire with his efforts.” Read more at Gizmodo. Few novels are as universally loved as Pride and Prejudice, but even Jane Austen’s most famous work had its contemporary critics. “It is a truth universally acknowledged that…

The just-released debut trailer for sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage will obviously leave fans fawning over the intense unveiling of Marvel Comics’ crimson symbiote serial killer, Carnage. However, it also happens to tease imagery that could end up becoming a consequential Easter egg for the canonical place of the upcoming film—and its 2018 predecessor—in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, thusly, any presumed connection it might have had to Spider-Man. The Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer shows a police detective named Mulligan, played by Stephen Graham (Greyhound, Line of Duty), reading a paper that should be instantly recognizable even…
