Ubisoft May Have Changed Gods and Monsters Name Due to Monster Energy Legal Challenge

Legal documents suggest that Ubisoft may have been inspired to change the name of Gods and Monsters to Immortals: Fenyx Rising due partially to a copyright challenge by Monster Energy. The legal documents (which were reported on by Techraptor and covered extensively by the Hoeg Law YouTube channel) are quite amusing if you’re into sly accusations made via dry legal smack talk. Basically, the Monster Energy corporation states that a game called Gods and Monsters could potentially conflict with the recognizably of their brand and create confusion. They even note that because the Monster Energy brand is so well-known in…

The Witcher: Monster Slayer Trailer Showcases Mobile ARPG

The Witcher is being adapted into a mobile ARPG app, because of course The Witcher is being adapted into a mobile ARPG app. The app, The Witcher: Monster Slayer, is being published by CD Projekt Red and developed by a company called Spokko which CD Projekt Red acquired to develop future mobile titles. You play as an amorphous blob creature who breaks out of a test chamber to swiftly wreak havoc on an underground lab. It’s the stuff all great slasher fiction is made of, only here the “reverse horror” conceit firmly places you in the driver’s seat. Such a setup might sound…

Monster Hunter Movie: Release Date, Cast, News, and Photos

British director Paul W.S. Anderson turned the hit video game franchise Resident Evil into a long-running film series in the early 2000s, and he’s set to do the same thing again with another property owned by Japanese publisher Capcom. Like the last of the Resident Evil adaptations, Anderson’s Monster Hunter is filming in South Africa, with the budget set at a fairly moderate $60 million.  The project is funded…
