Halloween Kills Will Be Bigger and Bloodier Than the Last Film

In 2018 David Gordon Green made a bold choice. By taking on a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 classic, Halloween, he retconned out every other film in the franchise. Carpenter himself was on board as executive producer and composer and amazingly both fans and critics loved it. Perhaps even more extraordinary, its arrival seems to mark a resurgence in slashers across the board, with this year’s Fear Street, Candyman (also a sequel to the original), and a Scream refresh on the horizon for 2022.  So now, with the second part of his Halloween trilogy on the way, any hint…

Halloween Kills Shifts to Day and Date Streaming Release on Peacock

This is going to cut movie theater owners as deeply as, well, Michael Myers after he leaves the kitchenware aisle. Universal Pictures announced with little pomp or fanfare on Thursday that David Gordon Green and Jamie Lee Curtis’ long anticipated follow-up to their 2018 Halloween reboot, Halloween Kills, will now premiere simultaneously in theaters and on the NBC-Universal streaming service, Peacock. The shift does not mean Halloween Kills has been delayed again. In fact, it is now certain to open in theaters on Oct. 15. However, it will also be available for streaming (and presumably online piracy) on the exact…

Blumhouse Horror Movies Update: Halloween Kills, Insidious 5 and More

One of the most prolific production companies of recent times has been Blumhouse, which spent the better part of the past 15 years delivering low-to-mid-budget quality genre entertainment — mostly horror, some of it in other genres like sci-fi and thriller — to eager audiences watching at the movie theater or on TV (the company has also been behind dramas like Whiplash). Like every other entertainment entity out there, Blumhouse has been impacted heavily by the coronavirus pandemic. Not only has the company shuffled release dates and moved films either onto premium VOD or out of 2020 completely, but production…

Halloween Kills Moves to 2021 Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Halloween Kills will have to wait a full year to fulfill its titular declaration. That’s because the film, a direct sequel to 2018’s Halloween revival movie, is quickly approaching an October 2020-scheduled release date that’s looking increasingly unfeasible in the face of a possible second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Universal Pictures, who’s handling distribution for the Blumhouse co-production, has moved Halloween Kills to October 15 2021—exactly one full year from its previous October 15, 2020 date. Consequently, the shift will directly affect the film’s would-be successor, trilogy-completing offering Halloween Ends, which will similarly shift back from its October 15,…

Halloween Kills Cast, Plot, Release Date, and all the Latest News

It used to be that ‘remake’ was something of a dirty word in horror after audiences were bombarded with substandard do-overs at the start of the 2000s (The Omen, The Wicker Man, The Last House on the Left, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, we could go on…) But despite early cynicism David Gordon Green’s new take on John Carpenter’s seminal stalk ‘n slash was well received by fans and critics alike and did great box office. So when it was announced that Halloween 2018 would form part of a trilogy with Halloween Kills coming in 2020 and…
