Hearthstone: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Expansion Includes Most Requested Features

The Hearthstone team has revealed the game’s upcoming Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expansion, and everything we’ve heard so far suggests it could be the game’s most meaningful expansion yet. The upcoming expansion will also feature the usual number of new cards (135). Among the new cards are the return of the “Old Gods” Legendaries (C’thun, N’Zoth, Yogg-Saron, and Y’Shaarj) who each produce some potentially game-changing effects when played. There’s also a new keyword called “Corrupt” which basically allows you to upgrade a corrupted card by playing a card that costs more than it does. Interestingly, Blizzard has announced that…

Nevertheless, a seemingly reliable leak means that you can get a sneak peek at…

Players are reporting that Genshin Impact (one of 2020’s biggest surprise hits and a runaway financial success) censors any attempt to use the words “Taiwan” and “Hong Kong” in the game’s chat text system. The full list of words and phrases that are censored in the game hasn’t been revealed/discovered quite yet, but “Taiwan,” “Hong Kong,” and “Tibet” are among the most notable early examples. Interestingly, other users are reporting that seemingly simple words such as “enemies” are turned into asterisks whenever you try to type them in chat. That could indicate that the game’s censorship system is being unintentionally…

Hasbro’s long-running action figure line, Marvel Legends, is being expanded…with a nostalgic twist. Pop culture in the year 2020 is a peripheral cycle of reboots and remixes that serve to prove the cliché that everything old is new again true once more. Not that this is an unwelcome thing.  Even the most cursory of glances at the current news cycle makes nostalgia a cherished old friend right about now. So as someone whose current job description is perhaps best summed up as “professional dweller in the past,” I can tell you from firsthand experience that nostalgia is one of the…
