How The Nevers Weathered COVID Delays and Joss Whedon’s Departure

For a show called The Nevers, HBO’s latest fantasy endeavor doesn’t say no to a lot. The series, developed by erstwhile TV titan Joss Whedon, brings quite a few competing elements to the table. Disney Delays Mulan Indefinitely, Avatar Sequels Pushed Back

Disney has reconfigured its theatrical release schedule again as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage throughout the country, with the company yanking or delaying some films while leaving others in place — at least for now. The first, not totally unexpected move was pulling Mulan off its August 21 release date. Originally set to arrive this past spring and then this month, the live-action remake of the animated classic was moved to August after the first major wave of the pandemic. Coronavirus Scare Delays Mulan, New Mutants, and Antlers

Poor, poor The New Mutants. The last 20th Century Fox-produced superhero movie was scheduled to finally have its release date and day in the sun on April 3. After the movie became a production football trapped in limbo during Disney’s acquisition of Fox—there are going to be reshoots, actually there won’t be reshoots, maybe it never needed reshoots?—it was a curious sign of confidence when Disney elected to give it an April 2020 release date.
