Thor Trailer Brings Back Donald Blake

When Thor first joined the Marvel Universe, it was as Harvard Medical student Donald Blake, but after years splitting time between the two alter egos, Thor became a separate being and Blake left Asgard (mostly) behind. But in November’s Thor #9 by Donny Cates and Nic Klein, Don Blake returns and things are looking less than great for the good doctor. “‘Prey’ is maybe the most fun I’ve ever had writing at Marvel. Thor fans are going to lose their minds over this one and I can’t wait to unleash this terrifying beast on them!” Cates said. “Nic Klein is…

Such a notion was validated with the extended episode’s performance, which yielded Comedy Central record ratings. Comedy Central is touting monumental metric accolades from the South Park Pandemic Special, which was the highest-rated episode of the long-running animated staple in the past seven years with 2.06, yielding a total of 4.05 million viewers in the coveted 18-49 demographic for the premiere. Alejandro Jodorowsky 4K Restoration Collection Brings Clarity to Underground Film

Alejandro Jodorowsky’s films are confounding, grotesque, beautiful and healing, often within the same frame. The post-violence images of the opening sequence of El Tropo are made more horrific as they are reflected through the eyes of a seven-year-old boy, still naked from a rite of passage. Jodorowky’s films are a gateway drug. The Alejandro Jodorowsky 4K Restoration Collection of his cult classics Fando y Lis, El Topo, and The Holy Mountain, as well as his new Psychomagic, A Healing Art, are a first taste. The most surrealistic of the psychedelic filmmakers had no special effects, or even fancy cameras in his…

WWE Raw Brings New Announce Team, Inconsistent Results

WWE’s announcer shuffle continued on this week’s RAW, with Michael Cole once again filling in for Tom Phillips on last night’s episode; Cole only noted that Phillips “had the week off.” It’s the same thing Cole said last week.  Even more so this week, Samoa Joe was off the RAW commentary team as well; Byron Saxton and Dolph Ziggler filled in on the show. This has been a recurring shift for WWE. Cole has been the one constant, but in the last year RAW belonged to Phillips, then it went to Vic Joseph when Paul Heyman had creative control over the red brand, and after…

This article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 2 episode 4. We last saw Doppelganger in the Season 1 episode ‘Cherry’ where we were just starting to get a handle on how Vought International was manipulating political figures for its own gain. When…

Marvel’s Avengers Deepfake Brings MCU Actors to the Game

Marvel’s Avengers is this year’s big superhero extravaganza, and it’s already shaping up to be a bit polarizing. Scream 5 Brings Back Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers

Whoever ends up being the main protagonist of Scream 5 better start working on their wind up slap, because Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers is about to be investigating the story again. Indeed, in what stands as a major coup for Scream 5, Cox is reprising the role of Gale Weathers, a character she’s played in all four previous Scream films, beginning with the 1996 original film and continuing on through 2011’s Scream 4. The announcement reunites Cox with David Arquette, who is playing the role of Dewey Riley in the new film, making him another mainstay across all five films.…

Artemis Fowl Review: Kenneth Branagh Brings Teen Criminal Mastermind to Disney+

Originally destined to be a tentpole theatrical release in May, Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of the much loved Eoin Colfer books instead premieres as a Disney+ exclusive. It’s a shame in a way, since Branagh’s movie is colorful, kinetic, and highly cinematic with several rollicking set pieces and some Harry Potter-level world building.  On the other hand, the streaming release does at least save fans of the books feeling cheated out of the price of a cinema ticket and a bucket of popcorn as well as a morally ambiguous and frequently ruthless main character. As many predicted, the least interesting thing…
