While the long-gestating Avatar 2 was recently moved to a COVID-delayed release in December 2022, the sequel to the 3D-reviving 2009 blockbuster now continues its New Zealand production while teasing the occasional tidbit. The latest such tidbit comes in the form of a substantive look at a new vehicle that the energy-coveting Resources Development Administration (RDA) will utilize in the film. Disney has reconfigured its theatrical release schedule again as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage throughout the country, with the company yanking or delaying some films while leaving others in place — at least for now. The first, not totally unexpected move was pulling Mulan off its August 21 release date. Avatar 2 to Resume Filming as Plot Details Confirmed

A small Avatar 2 crew is heading back to New Zealand to complete filming on the first sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 box office smash. They will reportedly enter a two-week quarantine period before production restarts on the long-in-gestation movie.
